Wish I had a Picture

Early this morning I was nursing the twins. They caught sight of each other. Sassy gave Monkey a big smile. Monkey responded with a giggle that spit milk all over. So cute! They really love to "talk" and smile to each other.

I'd post a pic of their beautiful smiles, but they get too distracted by the camera to actually smile.

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day

October 15 is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.

I will be lighting candles in honor of Grace and Ian.

For all those mothers out there who are missing their babies, I will be praying for you.

Doctor appointments

Smartie's six-year check went well. Her weight is finally starting to catch up a bit. She's still off the chart, but not as far as she had been.

We also got Monkey's official results today. He has a curvature of his spine (scoliosis) that measured 11.9 on his x-rays. Dr. wants to repeat the x-rays in six weeks to see whether this number is accurate or if it appeared worse than it really is due to positioning. Once he compares the two x-rays, we'll probably be off to a spine specialist.

My Baby is Six!

Six years ago today the couple became a family! She only weighed 4lb 4oz. I can hardly believe she's gotten so big! Today we had a mother-daughter adventure. Here's the before picture:

Smartie's tail will be made into a wig for a child. Mine isn't long enough but will be sold to pay for the making of Smartie's wig:

Monkey's unofficial results

I called in and talked to the nurse today. Dr. C hadn't had time to look over the report yet, but the unofficial report from the nurse is that his spine is, in fact, curved, but there are no abnormalities.

What does this mean? I don't know. I suspect that it means the problem is in the muscles rather than bone/organs. Maybe his muscles on one side of his body are more developed or tighter or something, and that's pulling on his spine. So it appears to be good news so far. Hopefully we'll get the official report and interpretation soon.

An Adventure

I must be crazy. I took all four kids to my doctor's appointment today, then to the mall to buy new shoes for the girls. Smartie called it our Smartie-Sweetie-Sassy-Monkey-Mommy-Playdate-to-the-Mall Adventure!  The kids did surprisingly well through the whole thing.
